Not Sure About My Decisions

Hi,

Assume that in a certain game I called a raise preflop three times the blinds with 4 callers with 26 suited hearts. Then flop is Ah 2s 4h. Somebody has placed a bet on flop, and as a result I re-raised two times his raise and eventually got 2 callers. Then the turn is 8h. Afterwards I had my flush draw but I believe there were 2 callers. The river then came and it was 6s. Consequently, I bet almost 200% of the pot for others to think I will be stealing the pot.

Eventually, the first player re-raised all in, and so I called. As a result the pot became very big. For some reasons, the other player at the table also called. Well, the first one had AQ, and other has QJ suited hearts who ended up to be the winner of the pot.

What do you think, say that instance is true, have I done the right thing and that is to call his re-raise all in? Or otherwise should have I just folded? Any advice or idea?

Thank you so much!

Aidan

Aidan,

The very first mistake you made was calling a raise preflop with 2h-6h. What were you hoping to accomplish here? Flop two low pair or a straight draw? You flopped a pair and a flush draw, but you had the 4th worst flush draw you could have had. Any ace is going to call as well as any flush draw to your bet.

Your bet on the river was a dream come true for the other opponents. Yes, you could have had a Kh and another heart but someone with a decent flush was going to either call or reraise you.

Do I think you did the right thing calling his all-in raise? No. You should have folded this hand preflop. As you can see, when this type of hand hits and loses, it loses big.
