Poker Scripts for Multi-Tabling
Playing more poker games in volume online has become the way to beat the online poker tables. Players used to be able to shake the money tree of poker and play very few hands yet profit large amounts of money quite easily. But unfortunately these times have passed.
The poker world smartened up and it is now a lot harder to find profitable games without professional players above $1 – $2 No-Limit anywhere online. There are still good games to be found, but they are a lot more difficult to find than in previous years. In order to maximise the hourly win rate for online grinders the concept of playing more than one table has quickly became the right thing to do and inevitably software programs have become available to help players play thousands of hands at great speed.
Hevad “RainKhan” Khan was cited as a possible poker bot by members of the poker community when he was seen playing twenty six tables at once during a SNG session. He immediately posted a YouTube video of him playing twenty plus tables to prove his innocence and was immediately propelled into the limelight as a poker player. He went out to finish at the final table of the 2007 World Series of Poker Main Event earning $1 million for his efforts. Players were multi tabling already but the viral spread of this video online caused more players to give it a try to see if they could also profit from this brute force approach.
For a time playing ten tables at once was considered to be an amazing feat. The more tables you play the quicker you must act for each table decision to avoid being timed out. When you first try this you will feel like your brain is not working quickly enough. Computer programmers quickly saw the potential for designing a program that makes multi-tabling a lot easier for poker players by using computer scripts to simplify making actions on the poker table.
Table Ninja is a program used by Boku87 to play more than forty tables at once when playing SNG’s. This program works on one specific poker room and users to assign hotkeys to the various decisions required in poker. This avoids the need to excessively click the mouse so you can play very quickly. For example, if you have set the hotkeys up you could press “F” for fold and “1” for a pot sized bet or raise, “A” for All-in and so on, there are lots of variations you can set up. Once you are familiar with your own preferred set-up the decisions you make can be one button pressed on your keyboard rather than lots of mouse clicks. The program also automatically enters tournaments and closes the tournament lobby window if you wish. If you have ever tried entering a lot of tournaments at once you will appreciate this option.
You can set up the script so you control the bet sizes by scrolling the wheel on your mouse making it easier to play tournaments or cash games where the strategy does not become all-in or fold so often as SNG’s. It does not help with strategy, but if you are making the right decisions it makes implementing these decisions a lot easier giving you more time. Time is at a premium when playing a lot of tables and the advent of these scripts have allowed players to play more tables than ever, more than what was realistic without the scripts to assist them.
If you are a multi-tabler it is likely your win rate per table will be harder to achieve in the future as the standard of play continues to improve in poker. Playing more tables is a good way to stay mentally sharp and allow the small edge you have to be multiplied over a larger sample of games in a shorter period of time. Cash game players and SNG specialists have specific reasons to use this type of software, where the edge is smaller but the play required can be duplicated over many tables.
The small investment in learning how to utilise this new technology could see you improve your game to a new level. It is certainly worth the time whilst there are still opportunities for consistent profits at the online tables. Most online professionals now laugh at the idea of playing one table, there is simply too much to gain by learning to handle more tables. These new scripts only make this easier to do.
