How to Win at Limit Texas Holdem

Are you now into limit Texas holdem and having problems because you’re not winning? If so, let us help you out. Maybe you just need some little help. We have provided some tips below, just try to read and understand them.

Play only premium starting hands

Be aware that you should not see more than 20-25% of the flops in a regular game or event.

Keep distance from tight-aggressive tables and strong players

At all times, you must stay away from tight-aggressive tables and strong players. Tight aggressive tables are just low profit tables and have high volatility while strong players are oftentimes potentially skilled who can easily read you and take your money in an instant. As much as possible, look for loose ones by which at least 30% see the flop on average and play their hands very far.

Have pots when drawing

Be mindful that you should only call a bet if the pot justifies the call, if otherwise, never dare to call at all.

Assess your strength in the hand

It is important that you have an idea what your opponent is holding and then compare his hand to yours. Likely, assess your strength in the hand. Will your hand win over his hand or will it not?

Check your opponents’ playing styles

It’s an advantage for you if you know your opponent’s playing style. Ahead of time, you can know what’s most likely to happen and what’s not.

To know your opponent’s playing style, ask yourself these questions: What kind of hands do they raise and re-raise with? With weak holding, do they call all the way? How do they play pocket pairs? How about their draws? From early position, what kinds of hands do they call/raise with? And what type of hands do they check-raise with most of the time?

Steal pots immediately when in late position

In late position, when few players are in the pot and it has been checked around to you, you could actually steal the pots. Be sure that you are on your senses to be able to steal the pots anytime.

However, before you go and steal the pots, make sure that board seems not to benefit anyone. Also, assess first what kinds of players are left in the pot.

Don’t be predictable

In all poker varieties, not only in limit Texas holdem, is it important that you do not become a predictable player. From time to time, do things that you don’t usually do. Just be sure that you can handle the results of your actions afterwards.

Fold in the right time

Folding should be done in the right time. If you practice right timing when folding, you will be able to save money.

Don’t bluff that often

In limit Texas holdem, remember that it is much better if you don’t bluff that often. And if you bluff, it is important that you see to it that your opponents are not holding strong hands and/or are too weak .
