Playing Texas Holdem

You can actually learn Texas Holdem rules and how to play the game in just a matter of minutes. But of course, you will be needing a lot of patience and determination in order to do so.

For some people, Texas game is an easy game. Basically, it runs for 15 minutes. It begins with two players to the left of the dealer putting out blind bets. The player directly to the dealer’s left then place out the small blind while the player two to the dealer’s left place out the big blind. A blind is a forced bet placed before the deal.

After the blinds were placed, every player should be given two cards, face down. These are called hole or pocket cards. Then right after, the action or the first move should fall on the player to the left of the big blind. He can either call the bet, fold it, or raise. Likely, betting must continue around the table clockwise.

Then, after the betting is completed, three cards should be dealt face up in the center of the table, which is referred to as the board. Generally, the first three cards in Texas Holdem are called the flop. These cards are “community cards” that everyone can use in combination with other hole cards to create the best hand.

After the flop on, betting must begin with the player to the dealer’s left, who can check or bet. Consequently, a fourth card must be dealt face up onto the board. This is called the turn card or fourth street. Subsequently, the final card must be dealt face up. Normally, this card is called the river or fifth street.

More often than not, after the river, a final round of betting must occur. The remaining players must show their cards and the person who can make the best five card hand by combining his pocket cards with the cards on the board will eventually win.
