Getting to Know a One Player Card Game

Solitaire is a card game mostly played by one or single player. Some of its varieties like Racing Demon, Nertz and Russian Bank can actually be played by more than one player. However, by tradition solitaire is generally considered as a one player card game.

Popular One Player Solitaire Games

Klondike Solitaire

– So far it is one of the best-known one player (solitaire) card games. This game uses a standard 52-card deck of playing cards without Jokers. On the left of the playing area, it is notable that one upturned card must be dealt, then from left to right six downturned cards. On the top of the downturned cards, an upturned card must be dealt on the left-most downturned pile, and downturned cards on the rest until all piles have an upturned card.

Spider

– Also a best-known one player (solitaire) card game that has several variants like Relaxed Spider or Spiderette. Basically, the main purpose of this game is to remove all cards from the tableau and then assemble them in the tableau before getting rid of them.

At the start, 54 cards are to be dealt to the tableau in ten piles, face down except for the top cards. By rank, the tableau piles then must build down, and in-suit sequences can be moved together. Then when none of the piles are empty, 50 remaining cards can be dealt to the tableau ten at a time.

FreeCell

– Another one player (solitaire) card game that is not behind in terms of popularity. Basically, it uses a standard 52-card deck.

In this game, there are four open cells and four open foundations. In the event you are able to move all the cards to their foundation pile, game is over and you win.

Basically, the top card of each cascade begins a tableau. Tableaus must be built down by alternating colors and foundations are built up by suit.
