When I first started playing cards with my friends we usually just used a normal paper deck of cards and our regular money. That was fun and gave you a real feeling for the cards and the money you where playing with. Today you can get a really nice plastic deck of card and some almost casino look alike chips. Some even arrange their own home mini casino game evenings.

The major difference with playing with chips instead of real money is that you can loose perspective on that it is real money and how much you actually are playing with. This is even more risky when you play on the Internet where you never see the money more than numbers on a homepage. So the evolution has brought us some more authentic casino feeling with better cards and chips. Which allows us to arrange our own home games and now you can play with your friends without the risk of that the house can take your money which can be the case if you play at a casino or some stranger if you are playing in a card game.

Another good thing in home games is that you can make your own rules and decide for what background music you want. On my first casino visit I made the mistake of answering my mobile phone when I was playing roulette and then within a second a guard came to me and said that you are not allowed to answer your phone when you are playing on their tables. And whenever you play in your home game you can decide if you are allowed to answer or not. I personally think it is okay to talk in the money since that probably won’t affect your game nor disturb anyone else sitting at the table.
